Romelu Lukaku says his departure at Chelsea was a mistake and he wants to return to Inter Milan while still in his prime.
The 28-year-old Belgian striker left the Italian side after helping the Blues to Serie A glory last season.
But despite an explosive start to life at Stamford Bridge, the striker has now admitted he is ‘not happy with the situation at Chelsea’ as he criticized Thomas Tuchel’s tactics in an explosive interview.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italy, Lukaku said: “Physically I am fine. But I am not happy with the situation at Chelsea.
“Tuchel has chosen to play with another system – I won’t give up, I’ll be a professional.
“I’m not happy with the situation but I’m a professional – and I can’t give up now.”
Lukaku continued: “I think what happened last summer shouldn’t have happened like this… how I left Inter, the way I left the club, how I communicated with Inter fans – it’s me It’s annoying because it wasn’t the right time.
“Now is the right time to share your feelings. I have always said that I have Inter in my heart: I know I will return to Inter, I really hope.
“I love Italy, this is the right time to talk and tell people what really happened.
“I really hope from the bottom of my heart to return to Inter at the end of my career, but while I still have to win together at the top level”.
“I want to apologize to the Inter fan, the timing of my words was wrong: what you did for me will last forever.”
