Two persons have been taken into custody in connection with the disappearance of a 14-year-old child who went missing 15 years ago. Andrew Gosden was last seen on 14 September 2007 on his way from Doncaster to London after “involuntarily” dropping out of school. South Yorkshire Police have now announced that two men were arrested last Wednesday on suspicion of kidnapping the teenager.
A 45-year-old man was taken into custody on charges of kidnapping, human trafficking and possessing obscene pictures of children.
A 38-year-old male with the help of Mate was also detained on charges of kidnapping and human trafficking. Both the suspects have been freed till the investigation continues.
“Our focus at this time is to support Andrew’s family while we work through this new investigation into the case,” said senior investigative officer, Detective Inspector Andy Knowles. “We are in constant contact with them, and they have requested that their privacy be protected while our investigation continues.”
