NASCAR Starting order 2022
Team Penske driver Ryan Blaine earned pole position with a qualifying speed of 92.759 mph. He did this despite crashing in practice and damaging the left side of his car.
“Definitely talk about an up and down day, putting it in the odds on my third lap and fixing it on my third lap to know if the car was killed, if we’d have to go to backup. to do it,” he said, per NASCAR.com.
Blaney had to sweat it out from Trackhouse Racing’s Daniel Suarez’s qualifying run, which turned a lap of 92.741 mph. That run earned Suarez second on the grid for Sunday’s race (flagshipped at 3:49 p.m. ET; Fox, TSN, PRN).
This is Blaney’s second poll of the season. He qualified first for the March 13 race in Phoenix.
