The Italian replaced Xisco Munoz in October, but was unable to reverse the club’s falling fortunes.

Watford have lost eight of their 10 matches under his leadership – apart from memorable victories over Everton and Manchester United.

The club has lost five matches in a row and scored 15 goals in the process – only Leeds, Newcastle and Norwich have let more in this campaign.

And their latest 4-1 loss to West Ham has left them in 17th place in the division – two points clear of Burnley in the field.

Watford will move to the bottom three if Burnley win either of their two matches against Manchester United or Leeds.

Ranieri is the second favorite to be the next top-flight boss to take down his duties.

And if removed, the 70-year-old would be the 15th managerial departure under the club’s owners, the Pozzo family, since they took over in 2012.

Former Grenada boss Diego Martínez leads the position with Betfair at odds of 4/1.

The 41-year-old earned promotion with the club before finishing seventh in his first top-flight campaign.

He reached the Europa League quarter-finals during the club’s first European appearance before losing to Manchester United.

Athletic Dawa Martinez, who allowed his contract to expire in June, has spent time in the UK working on his English and watching Premier League football.

Paulo Fonseca is next in betting on 5/1, having recently been tipped for roles at Tottenham, Everton and Newcastle.

Slavisa Djokanovic is available on 6/1, slightly ahead of Sam Allardyce (8/1) and Frank Lampard (10/1).
