Ivan was involved in a clash with Tony Fernandinho – but escaped any punishment against Manchester City.
Midfielder Fernandinho was brought down battling for the ball, with the Premier League champions at Brentford just before half-time.
Striker Toni then jumped in with a challenge and appeared to catch the Brazilian with a stamp.
But the forward avoided any punishment despite the contact being revealed in replays.
City may have worked hard, but it was only moments before Fernandinho had really entered Tony.
Its fans were saying it was a classic case of six of one and a half dozen of the other.
One said: “Think he’s lucky he didn’t get anything, but you can say the same for Fernandinho, so I guess no action has been taken.
“Then again, VAR is there to help the referee so why didn’t it do it for Fern’s challenge and then Tony’s challenge? Weird.”

Another said: “If anything what Dinho did was more of a red color, but neither were.”
One added: “He did the same thing 2 minutes before this to tone down.”
Another said: “I think there is a difference, he needs to be careful with Fernandinho because he is very smart in the art of kicking people without paying attention to them.”
Phil Foden’s opener in the 16th minute was what was separating the two sides at that time.
