Tottenham target Franck Casey has agreed terms with Barcelona, reports say.
The AC Milan midfielder has also been linked with Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, PSG and Real Madrid.
Casey, 25, is currently unable to sign the contract as he is with Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations.
But Sportitalia’s Gianluigi Longari claims Casey’s representatives have verbally agreed to join Barca at the end of his Milan contract in July.
It appears to have defied Spurs’ hopes of signing him this month after negotiating a fee of around £11m.
The former Atalanta ace seemed certain to leave Milan for a long time.
This is mainly because he apparently wanted an unexpected salary package – a signing of a new deal rumored to be £6m plus bonuses.
Tottenham & Co may yet be back for Casey, who is in a strong bargaining position as he runs out a contract.
But despite their financial problems, Barcelona are now in pole position.
Meanwhile, Spurs have frozen Porto’s £55million asking price for Colombia winger Luis Diaz.

Liverpool had been interested for some time in questioning by Diaz and West Ham.
But Manchester United could be his most serious love interest as Tottenham would be reluctant to pay £50m-plus.
Spurs chief Antonio Conte is also considering making an offer for Wolves flyer Adama Traore.
