A Spanish newspaper has joked that Cristiano Ronaldo has introduced himself to Barcelona because he is unhappy with Manchester United.
He claimed that the Portuguese superstar approached Barca centre-back Gerard Pique and asked him to speak to Nou Camp boss Xavi about a move.
But not everything is as it seems.
Spain celebrates December 28 as the equivalent of April Fool’s Day and mundo deportivo Dreamed up the incredible story as a prank.
Reports suggested that his agent Jorge Mendes was already negotiating terms with Barca president Joan Laporta.
It said Ronnie knew the cash-strapped Catalans were looking for a goalscorer.
And so he approached Xavi ‘a few days ago’ after being introduced by his former United teammate Pique.
Many high-profile Barca officials are said to have thought the Real Madrid legend’s transfer was a joke when they first heard it.
Hilariously added to the story, Pique even asked Lionel Messi if his arch nemesis could rent his house from him if Ronaldo joined.

The joke was totally accurate with Ronaldo biting a sad man at Manchester United.
When his side was only able to draw 1–1 with Newcastle, he went straight down the tunnel without acknowledging the traveling fans.
