One fan said ‘he is the essence of United today’.

Several other comments stacked up with one: “Worst cross of all time.”

And it wasn’t just the fans, with Sky pundit Gary Neville saying: “Honestly, they’re absolutely shocking there.

“To be honest with you, he was sacked the last manager, but Ralph Rangnick is not being sacked, he only has two or three weeks.”

United boss Rangnik himself said: “I didn’t like the performance at all.
