The first international tournament of a packed 2022 is underway – and now we have reached the knockout stages.
Twice delayed, the Africa Cup of Nations began in Cameroon on 9 January, with the hosts coming from behind to defeat Burkina Faso.

When is AFCON 2022?
- The tournament, which lasted more than a month, began with Cameroon vs Burkina Faso Sunday, January 9th.
- The competition follows a pattern familiar to many fans, with group stages followed by a knockout format.
- The final will take place on Sunday, 6 February in Olembe.
- Kick-off times during the group stage will be 1 PM, 4 PM and 7 PM GMT.
How can I watch on TV and live stream?
Every match of AFCON 2022 will be shown live on Sky Sports in the UK.
And ten matches will be shown free-to-air on the BBC, including two quarter-finals, both the semi-final and the final on 6 February only.
