Romelu Lukaku has made a sensational revelation that he wants to leave Chelsea to rejoin Inter Milan.

The 28-year-old striker angered fans of the Italian side last summer when he left them to move back to Stamford Bridge in a £97.5m move.

Inter supporters defaced a mural of Lukaku upon his departure in August, despite his goals helping him to Serie A glory, and also carried a banner accusing the Belgian of ‘breaking his balls’.

Murals emerged online with black surrounding an image of Lukaku in an Inter shirt pointing to the sky.

His number 9 and the name on his shirt could barely be seen when the vandals vandalized the piece.

And he also raised a banner in Italian that roughly translates to: “You broke our balls.”

Inter’s Karva Nord Ultrasound is being blamed for the vandalism.

And a message on his Facebook page accused Lukaku of being a ‘money grabber’.

But he has now tried to make amends with supporters left upset by announcing his desire to return to Inter after acknowledging how unhappy he is in the Blues.

Lukaku told Sky Sport Italy: “I think what happened last summer shouldn’t have happened like this … how I left Inter, the way I left the club, how I communicated with Inter fans – It bothers me because it wasn’t the right time.

“Now is the right time to share your feelings. I have always said that I have Inter in my heart: I know I will return to Inter, I really hope.

“I love Italy, this is the right time to talk and tell people what really happened.

“I really hope from the bottom of my heart to return to Inter at the end of my career, but while I still have to win together at the top level”.

“I want to apologize to the Inter fan, the timing of my words was wrong: what you did for me will last forever.”

Lukaku also claimed that his move to Chelsea was a mistake and also wanted to return to Inter while he was in his prime.

Despite an explosive start to life back at Stamford Bridge, the striker has now admitted he is ‘not happy with the situation at Chelsea’ as he criticized Thomas Tuchel’s tactics in an explosive interview.

Lukaku has scored five goals in eight Premier League appearances for the Blues this time.

It also includes a strike against Brighton last night as their team was held to a 1-1 draw after losing to Man City in the title race.

But Lukaku’s impact in recent months has been limited by injuries and the coronavirus.

And Chelsea boss Tuchel has dropped him from the starting XI despite being fit on several occasions.

Lukaku said: “Physically I am fine. But I am not happy with the situation at Chelsea.

“Tuchel has chosen to play with another system – I won’t give up, I’ll be a professional.

“I’m not happy with the situation but I’m a professional – and I can’t give up now.”
