And it is this lack of play time that he seeks to address in his sit-down with Rangnik.

According to the Daily Mail, Henderson ‘regrets’ signing his bumper new contract at Old Trafford in 2020, raising his wages to at least £100,000 a week.

And even though Rangnik will be unlikely to let him go in January, the No. 2 pick clearly wants to voice his feelings.

Henderson enjoyed successful loan deals with Sheffield United between 2018 and 2020, before making 26 appearances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season.

This included 13 in the Premier League as David de Gea struggled for form.

However, the Spaniard has come close to his best stint with several significant saves and has regained his position as the undisputed first-choice stopper.

Henderson’s position has not been helped by an injury that forced his position out of Euro 2020 before difficulties with Covid in the summer.

And now he’s considering his options – wants to talk to his interim boss first.

The United Academy graduate played 90 minutes in a 1–0 Carabao Cup loss against West Ham in September.

He then made his Champions League debut at the home of the Young Boys.

But in a game in which a group of academy players gave the first team a run-out, Rangnick also dismissed Henderson in the middle of the second half as Tom Heaton made his debut.

Ajax has been linked with possibly transferring on loan to the one-cap England international in January.

Club head and United legend Edwin van der Sar is a big fan of Henderson and the Amsterdam outfit will need a new man among the sticks if they decide to get rid of Andre Onana.

Rangnik, however, wants three senior goalkeepers at his disposal, so he is likely to stay with De Gea, Henderson and Heaton for the duration of his interim reign.

The report leaves Henderson as well as Anthony Martial, Eric Bailly, Jesse Lingard and Donny van de Beek worried about their future after being overlooked by Solskjaer and failing to win over Rangnik yet .
