The surprise outbreak of ROMELU LUKAKU admitting he is ‘unhappy’ at Chelsea could force the Blues to plunge into the transfer market for a new forward.
Thomas Tuchel is shaken by Lukaku’s admission, and has confirmed that showdown talks with a £97.5 million Summer signing are on the cards.
And those talks could result in pressure for Lukaku to pull out, in which, just six months after joining, the Belgium international stated his desire to return to Inter.
Should this happen, Chelsea will be tempted to break the bank once again on a marquee sign up front.
Timo Werner has yet to get Top Gear, and has been used in a wider role by Tuchel.
Kai Havertz has been appointed as a false nine, but an out-and-out striker will be needed in case Lukaku leaves.
Here SunSport takes a look at who the Blues might be targeting in January, with the transfer window open tomorrow.

The 21-year-old Borussia Dortmund ace is reportedly available for at least £64million over the summer due to a bargain release clause.
But if Lukaku is transferred in January, the Blues may be tempted to pull out early on Haaland to avoid competing for his signature in the summer.
Tuchel sent Chelsea fans into meltdown by first confirming interest in Haaland.
He reveals that Haaland and Lukaku may play together, but with the latter unhappy the Blues may actually be looking to replace him with goal machine Haaland.
Chelsea were linked in the summer with a move for the 28-year-old Kane, before emerging as Manchester City’s forward.
Kane was reportedly one of two options for Chelsea, the other being Lukaku.
So if the Belgian frontman moves on, Tuchel could return for England captaincy.
Vlahovic is another one that has sparked interest from a host of top clubs in Europe.
And the 21-year-old Serbian star has declined a record contract offer from current club Fiorentina, and could be on the move as early as January.
Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham have all been linked, and Chelsea may even throw their hat into the ring for a striker who most recently equaled Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of 33 Serie A goals in one calendar year.
Lewandowski was reportedly ‘ready’ to sign for Chelsea in the summer, but the Blues haven’t made a move for the Bayern Munich frontman.
The 33-year-old is claimed to be following a new challenge after nearly eight years with Bayern.
He has less than 18 months left in his current Bayern deal, and could once again look to take a step forward in January.
With 30 goals in just 25 games this campaign is proving Lewandowski that he still has what it takes to compete at the highest level.
Cavani signed a one-year extension with Manchester United in the summer, but is unlikely to be renewed again in six months’ time.
That means he’s a free agent over the summer, so United may be looking for the 34-year-old veteran to cash in and accept a cut-price fee while they still can.
It has shades of Redmail Falcao, as the striker joined Chelsea after just a season at Old Trafford.
And Cavani could potentially offer a short-term solution in the case of Lukaku’s departure from January before a more permanent signing is made in the summer.
