Reports in Italy suggest Arsenal are ‘closer’ to announcing the loan signing of Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo.

According to TuttoSport, the Gunners made and accepted an 18-month loan deal for the Brazilian, only wanting to take him on for six months.

Elsewhere Arsenal have reportedly ‘set a deadline’ for Dusan Vlahovic to decide whether they want to join him in a £66million deal.

The Premier League club is getting frustrated with the long-running saga and

La Repubblica claims they have asked Hotshot to respond ‘by halfway through next week’.

However, it has also been claimed elsewhere that Arsenal’s hopes of landing the Fiorentina striker have fallen again amid claims by Juventus to bid for the striker.

Despite interest in the Premier League, Juve has been cited as Vlahovic’s favourite.

Taking the focus off the transfer news, Mikel Arteta is set to be handed a fresh two-year deal by Arsenal chiefs.

According to the Mail, club bosses are keen to garner interest from Manchester City, who are rumored to be keen to hire Arteta when Pep Guardiola’s contract expires in 2023.

And finally, the Gunners return to action today in search of their first win of 2022 as they welcome Burnley to the Emirates.

Arteta’s side have not finished on top of all competitions in four matches since the start of the year.
