Rudiger ‘Perfect’ for the Red Devils

Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker believes Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger would be the ‘perfect signing’ for his old club.

The German centre-back, 28, is out of contract in June and is attracting a lot of interest from across Europe.

Despite several talks, the star has not yet struck a deal with Chelsea.

Speculation is rife that Real Madrid are ‘pushing’ to seal a free transfer move for Rudiger, in which Paris Saint-Germain are also interested.

But Parker, who spent five years at the right-back for United, urged his old employers to start a move of his own for him.

And he explained that he believes the partnership between Rudiger and Rafael Varane could help the Red Devils challenge for the title.

The former England player told the betting expert: “If he wanted to stay at Chelsea. He is very influential and fans consider him their idol.

“To come to Manchester United, I would say it is ambitious. I understand why he wants to and I think he will make a difference.

“If you put him next to Varane, what difference are you talking about. Good pace and you are talking about someone who has won the World Cup, the Champions League and then you have the centre-half , which is truly a leader in the old-fashioned way of talking.

Parker said: “He really screams and yells, bosses people, directs people.

“When people aren’t doing it, he tells them it’s because he himself doesn’t make so many mistakes. He keeps things simple. He’ll be perfect.

“It all depends on his being ambitious. Does he want to go to Manchester United and be the difference-maker at the back?
