Chelsea suffered a major setback on Tuesday when it was confirmed that Ben Chilwell needed knee surgery for an ACL injury that left him out for the rest of the season.
It is believed that the Blues have the option of recalling either Emerson Palmieri from Lyon or Ian Matson from Coventry.
But Hernandez is now called his top target to challenge Marcos Alonso for a starting XI spot.
And Granovskia was reportedly not fired after Milan asked him to cough up £50m for the France international.
It has also been claimed that Chelsea have made contact with the agent of former Real Madrid ace Hernandez as talks intensified.

The out-of-favour defender has been tipped to move to Stamford Bridge after being out with Rafa Benitez.
And Chelsea were also prepared to let Ross Barkley return to Goodison Park as part of the deal.

Hernandez, the brother of Bayern Munich star Lucas, has impressed by scoring two goals in 20 appearances for Milan this stint.
And he’s reportedly also happy to be in San Siro this winter.
