Arsenal’s search for a new striker in January depends on whether Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Neketia are at the club next month, reports suggest.
Lacazette and Neketia are both out of contract for the summer, and are three names Arsenal have looked to as potential replacements.
According to The Athletic, the Gunners are keen on Dusan Vlahovic, Jonathan David and Alexander Isaacs.
But any move could be approved only in January, should Lacazette and Neketia find new clubs.
Both strikers are free to start pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs from January 1, which is said to ‘complicate’ matters.
But should a ‘solution’ be found, the club will be free to go ahead and bring in replacements.
The club already has four forwards in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Folarin Balogun, joining Lacazette and Neketia.
So one or more of them must depart to clear space for the new frontman.

Vlahovic, who has a £68m rating, is considered a ‘top target’ for Arsenal but the 21-year-old Fiorentina man has many fans and it may be difficult to convince him to join.
Elsewhere David sent Arsenal fans into meltdowns recently by wearing a T-shirt featuring a picture of Thierry Henry in a Gunners top.
The 21-year-old Canadian star is set to leave Lille in the summer, when his agent revealed that this season will be his last in France.
Nick Mavromaras said the Premier League is a ‘good option’ for David, who has scored 15 goals in just 26 appearances this campaign.
There is also a longstanding interest in Real Sociedad forward Isaac.
But he only signed a new long-term contract with the Spaniards in the summer, meaning a January move could prove difficult for the 21-year-old.
However, promoting Arsenal Isaac revealed that it would be ‘nice’ to one day play in the Premier League.
He only signed last month, so should Lacazette and Neketia depart in the summer, the Gunners may go out to sign Isaac when he arrives at the end of the season.
