Aaron Ramsey 'set to say goodbye to Juventus team-mates as his agent negotiates transfer exit' amid Newcastle interest

Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey is reportedly set to bid goodbye to his teammates ahead of a possible move to the Premier League.

The Arsenal icon, 31, has been heavily linked with moving back to England as the Old Lady seeks a £400,000-a-week salary from her books.

Injuries have spoiled Ramsey’s time in Turin since moving to Italy after his contract at the Emirates expired in 2019.

He has been limited to just three Serie A games this time due to his repeated setbacks – much to the club’s dismay.

And according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, his time at Juve is coming to an end.

They say the 71-cap Wales international is back at the training ground on Monday after the Christmas break.

But he says he will only return to say goodbye to his teammates and club staff.

Italian news outlets also insisted that the player’s squad is in contact with several teams ahead of their January exit.

Earlier this month it was revealed how Ramsey’s agent David Baldwin was working on a move away from Turin in the winter transfer window.

Newcastle are known to be a big fan of the three-time FA Cup winner as Eddie Howe looks to strengthen his midfield.

The Magpies are inking a deal with the Toon outfit for the former Cardiff ace, who is set to splurge cash following a Saudi-backed £300m acquisition.

However it is believed that Ramsey will have to take a pay cut as Newcastle cannot match his current earnings.

Juve will be ready to land Ramsey either on a cut-price deal or on loan by the end of the season.

In addition to the 2012 Olympians, Newcastle are also hoping to complete the signing of Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid.

And Barcelona centre-back Samuel Umtiti has emerged as a £17million substitute.
