A spectacular double knockout almost happened in ONE Championship’s first card of 2022.
Asia’s biggest combat sports promotion returned to action on Friday afternoon for ONE: HEAVY HITTERS.
And the heavy hitters were on display in curtain jerkers for the main card.
Light-heavyweight kickboxers Giannis Stoforidis and Beybulat Isaev set the tone for the remainder of the show with the one-rounder’s barnburner, which ended in insane circumstances.
In just 26 seconds into the match, the pair were Both Dropped to the floor after landing off the left hook hard on the chin.
But a thundering shot from Greece’s Stophoridis knocked Isaev out of consciousness and gave him a big win in his ONE debut.
Fight fans around the world were stunned by the knockout, which resembled MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko’s KO of Matt Mitrione at Bellator NYC in 2017.
A shocked spectator said: “Double murder.”
