Ryan Garcia has called in Isaac Cruz for his first fight since returning from an arm injury.
The American had to undergo surgery in October and faced 29-year-old Jojo Diaz, who instead lost to 23-year-old Devin Haney.
But Lightweight is eyeing a comeback fight in early 2022 and wants Cruz, who was badly beaten by Gervonta Davis in December, to be his rival.
Garcia, 23, tweeted: “Having my head down and getting the job done in 2022, I’m ready to move on.
“Quiet the noise and be who I am. 25-0 That’s the goal. The first move is to get Isaac Cruz to stop fighting and wasting time.
“Coming from a guy who says he’ll fight me in my yard, he sure will take a long time.”
Cruz, 23, staked his claim as a contender when he distanced Davis, 27, and only narrowly survived.
But she isn’t convinced Garcia will fight him, telling DAZN: “Ryan has not been a fighter who has posed any major threat to the division.

“He’s more focused on making videos and having followers on Instagram. But if he wants to fight, let him come to me.
“Diaz gets my attention because I hear he wants to bully me, he says he wants me out and so I’m there for him whenever he wants.”
Garcia has not fought back after beating Britain’s 34-year-old Luke Campbell in January 2021 after a brutal body shot.
But he has now returned to training and claims that his famous speed has improved as well.
Garcia posted: “I feel so much faster and stronger, really faster than before, it’s kinda crazy and can’t wait!
“Kinda felt like I was in a hyperbolic chamber from DBZ (Dragon Ball Z).”
