Klay Brook has claimed that Floyd Mayweather wants to face the winner of his grudge match with Amir Khan.
Brooke and Khan are finally set to fight on February 19, following years of bitter conflict.
For either of the 35-year-old pair, a loss could play a retirement role on their face.
But Brooke called Mayweather, 44, and rising British star Conor Bain, 25, to quit the game, citing defeating Khan as future opponents.
He told IFL TV: “I think a lot of people want me to say I’m going to retire and what’s up after that.
“Connor Ben is mentioned, Mayweather is saying he wants a winner, Danny Garcia is saying he wants a winner, Keith Thurman is getting active again.
“My mojo is back, talking to you right now. I still feel young, I still feel fresh. I fell good. But apparently this fight is on my mind.”
“A fighter, many fighters with experience in the sport ignore the fighters and look for the next fight after they appear.
“I’m just focusing on Khan for this fight. Am I going to retire? Let’s see how I feel.”
Mayweather officially took off the gloves in 2017 after beating ex-UFC champion Conor McGregor, 33, in a fascinating crossover fight.
But in both exhibitions, he has returned twice, starting with a round of demolition work on 23-year-old featherweight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa.
More recently, in June, the American legend was vanquished over eight rounds by 26-year-old YouTuber Logan Paul, who weighed TWO STONE more.
But Mayweather – now 20-year-old YouTuber in talks with “Money Kicks” – has denied ever returning to traditional boxing before.
Meaning Brooke is unlikely to persuade Mayweather to fight, but she sent a fierce warning to rival Khan.
He added: “I don’t know if I hate them – it’s a strong word – but I’m closer to the hate side.
“I really dislike that guy and I really can’t wait to punch him in the face.
“I can’t wait to get my knuckles to the closest point of the glove and drill straight into his face.”
