Josh Taylor has slammed BoxRec’s list of the best British fighters, describing his ranking as ‘outrageous’.

The boxing website ranked the undisputed light-welterweight champion fourth on its list, behind Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Callum Smith.

And 31-year-old Scott couldn’t help expressing his disappointment seeing his spot on the list.

With a laughing face emoji, Tartan Tornado tweeted: “Number 4 ????

“What else do I have to do to get some respect in my name?”

Boxing fans were quick to comment on Taylor’s place on the list, with one saying: “This list is ridiculous.”

Another said: “How are AJ and Smith above @JoshTaylorBoxer on this list?”

And another said: “Josh Taylor is the best fighter out of the UK in over a decade.
