White was largely accused of his UFC stagnant payout, while he himself hit the boxing record of the American celebrity.

But the UFC boss has now set the record straight and downplayed the rivalry with Paul, who he claims is just ‘trying to make some money’.

White told Manouk Akopian: “He hasn’t really been a thorn in my side. I don’t hate the guy the way people think I hate him.

“You know, he’s doing his job out there. He’s a young guy with a fan base and he’s trying to make some money. I never blame anyone for that.”

Paul, 24, knocked out and defeated two of White’s former fighters, 37-year-old Ben Askren and 39-year-old Tyrone Woodley.

Ex-UFC champion Woodley was initially defeated on points in August, but was KO’d in his rematch in December.

Paul’s more than two wins came against online rival ‘AnsonGib’ and ex-NBA point guard Nate Robinson, 37.

As a result, White has ridiculed the social media sensation for failing to fight an opponent who had previously been a professional boxer.

Their feud also turned sour when Paul accused the MMA promoter of using cocaine.

But White denied the allegation and offered to be tested for the recreational drug over a period of ten years.

In return, they asked Paul to take a drug test for two years, accusing the 5-0 prize winner of using steroids.

That hasn’t really been a thorn in my side. I don’t hate the guy like people think I hate him.

Paul later countered and denied the allegations and agreed to be tested by the United States Anti-Doping Agency – the drug testing partners of the UFC.

The viral back-and-back boxing promotion came as a blow to promoter Eddie Hearn, who praised Paul for publicly including White.

Hearn said DAZN Boxing: “Jake Paul has done really well to engage Dana White in those conversations.

“I have a lot of respect for Dana White and was quite surprised that she posted a video of her addressing Jake Paul.

“That would have been music to Jake Paul’s ears. Music to his ears, because that’s what he does, he gets you to the point where you start talking back.”
