When Frank, then 20 and in Bogotá, refuses a session, he is told that “crazy things happen to people here”.
The former world heavyweight champion, 60, said: “I knew what he was getting.
“But I said that I was going to be a world champion and if they were planning on having me in it and hoping that nobody would notice then that was wrong.
“I noticed a change in his behavior after that and he smiled uneasily.
“I still sweat thinking about it.
“I was lucky enough to get away with it in one piece — and left with my head and ‘Black and Decker’ where Mother Nature intended.
“I made up my excuse and left. I was looking over my shoulder for the rest of my stay though. I met in the weird scraps of my time in South London – but it was something else.”
