Anthony Joshua has been warned that rival Oleksandr Usik made only 60 percent of his best performance when he beat him in September.

Usik won the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles by defeating Joshua 117-112, 116-112, 115-113 on the judges’ scorecard in London.

AJ will be on a quest for revenge when the two heavyweights meet again in a rematch, which is expected to take place early next year.

However, Watford-born Bruiser has been warned by undefeated Ukrainian manager Sergei Lapin that his fighter will not give him his all at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Lapin told MyBettingSites: “I have known Alexander for over 20 years. I have been there and seen all his successes in boxing.

“One thing that sets him apart is that he processes information and adapts very, very quickly to the fighter in front of him.

“Sometimes I feel like he’s from another planet – he’s so cool.

“Despite the fact that he has a lot of experience and fights behind him, he is constantly improving and getting better every training day.

“I’ve seen and know what Usyak is really capable of, and Usyak’s version in the fight with Anthony Joshua was 60-70 percent of his ability.

“So yeah, Usyk might actually be better.”

Lapin, however, expects Usyk to go through a very tough fight when the two boxing stars lock horns again.

He remembers how Joshua told The Cat that he now knew how to beat him after the 12th round.

Lapin said: “To be honest, in the fight with Usyak, I saw the best version of Joshua in years. Joshua is strong-willed and characterful.

“All the belts were at stake, and he went all-in, but lost. I don’t understand at all why most boxing skeptics would say that Joshua’s wrong strategy was the explanation for Usyak’s victory.

“This victory was not just a lucky blow, as in the fight [Andy] rouge [Jr]It was a win by all criteria.

“For an immediate rematch, right after the end of the 12th round, I heard Anthony say: “Hey, Alex, I know how to beat you, I need a rematch”.

“Now he will try to take back his title. We are definitely looking forward to a really great rematch.”

The team arrived at Joshua’s camp for Usick earlier this month to see if he was ready to skip his rematch and replace Tyson Fury.

Reports suggest that the Ukrainian champion’s representatives offered a different deal worth £40 million.

But British Star’s promoter Eddie Hearn said it was ‘nearly impossible’ for him to step aside.
